The HIA hosted the largest annual conference in its 23 year history on September 18-20 in Denver, CO. Members, guests, speakers and exhibitors networked and learned from dozens of presenters and panels on topics ranging from cannabinoids, genetics, farming, federal regulation, composites, fiber, hempcrete and more. HIA also hosted a sold out Farm Tour which visited the CBDRx research farm and a Colorado State University research plot. Feedback from those in attendance was overwhelmingly positive. Here are some quotes from attendees:
"WOW!  Has the industry ever come a long way!  The seminars were enlightening, and it was so good to see all the old friends, and meet so many new people. Thanks again for making it all possible..." Ruth Shamai - Ruth’s Hemp
"It was a GREAT conference and I look forward to sponsoring next year’s event as well!"
Rick Trojan - Colorado Cultivars
"Great conference. I hate conferences, but I loved the HIA this and last year. Excellent work." Michael Perry - PNX Botanicals
CBD Pain & the Brain Panel featuring former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer

The HIA has been hosting an annual conference since its first gathering in Scottsdale, AZ in 1994.  This was the first time we held our conference in Colorado but it certainly won't be the last.  With Colorado as one of the leading hemp states, it was the right place at the right time.

The event began on Saturday with an optional Hemp Farm Tour. Sunday, we held an AGM at 1 pm and a networking reception at the Marriott featuring live music and hemp infused hors d’oeuvres from 7-9 pm.  Special thanks to EvoHemp for the Colorado grown hemp nut and hemp seed oil which was used in the meals. Monday and Tuesday were full days of speakers and panels on a wide variety of topics. You can view the full schedule here.
