The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Cannabis Quality Assurance (CannaQAP) launched a program to help labs accurately measure key chemical compounds in hemp and cannabis products like oils, edibles, tinctures and balms.
This program could increase accuracy in product labeling and help forensic laboratories distinguish products between federally legal hemp and cannabis.
Ionization Labs, HIA® member and a national leader in hemp testing and data analytics, is offering one complimentary, 72-hour turnaround time potency test to all licensed Texas Department of Agriculture hemp licensees through August 15th.
The hemp plant's potency testing is an essential pre-harvest requirement to ensure that the crop falls within the accepted level of .03% or less total THC, a rule set by the USDA, and adopted by the TDA (Texas Department of Agriculture).
HIA® member Air Products has been successfully supplying industrial gases to the food and pharmaceutical industries for over 60 years, and they are now applying their expertise to support hemp producers. They can identify opportunities where liquid nitrogen or CO2 can enhance product quality and shelf-life, increase productivity, and improve safety.
