U.S. HEMP CHECKOFF EXPLORATION: UPDATE & INVITATION All HIA Members in good standing are invited to participate in an initial discussion to gauge interest in and explore the potential for a U.S. Hemp Checkoff Program. This two hour, exploratory web conference call will review the potential requirements and steps that would be necessary for the hemp industry to implement the kind of research and promotional program that has had major positive impacts on domestic commodities for over fifty years, and spawned seminal marketing campaigns like: “Got Milk?” and “Pork: The Other White Meat."

FARMER PARTICIPATION REQUESTED The USDA Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) has made $16 billion in direct assistance available to a wide range of agricultural commodity producers but has excluded hemp. The Jacobsen provided pricing data to industry stakeholders at the beginning of June, showing sufficient declines to warrant inclusion in CFAP.
